Although the Bankruptcy Code is a federal law and therefore is applicable nationwide, state law relates significantly. As you probably already know, in October 2005 the bankruptcy laws changed considerably. These changes affect Chapter 7 cases most of all. The new law imposes additional duties on both debtors and their attorneys. The changes are discussed in this website; however, it is not possible to fully discuss these changes here.
