Thank you for visiting. I hope that you enjoy your stay. Most of the information contained here is about Bankruptcy—what it is, what kinds of Bankruptcy remedies may be available for you, and the advantages and disadvantages of filing Bankruptcy. This is because Bankruptcy is a major area of my law practice. It is important to note that any discussion here pertains only to Louisiana. Although the Bankruptcy Code is a federal law and therefore is applicable nationwide, state law relates significantly. Please note that I and my law firm have been designated by the United States Congress and the President as a federally qualified debt relief agency.

As you probably already know, in October 2005 the bankruptcy laws changed considerably. These changes affect Chapter 7 cases most of all. The new law imposes additional duties on both debtors and their attorneys. The changes are discussed in this website; however, it is not possible to fully discuss these changes here. Please call me with any questions that you might have that are not addressed here.

I also offer representation in other areas of civil (not criminal) law, and invite inquires regarding non-bankruptcy law, such as personal injury and property damage claims, wills, successions, incorporations, small business representation and contracts.

If you have any questions regarding anything that you read here, I would be happy to discuss these with you. There is no obligation on your part, and my consultation with you will be free of charge. You may contact me by the following methods:

Nothing contained herein should be construed to constitute advice for your personal situation. Furthermore, this is intended as a peripheral glance at the various options available, but by no means is this a comprehensive or exhaustive analysis of the bankruptcy laws. Whether or not you should file a Chapter 7 bankruptcy, or any bankruptcy, will vary depending on your personal situation. This decision should only be undertaken after careful consideration and analysis, and after consultation with a professional. The information regarding bankruptcy law you see here may contain information and rules peculiar to the Eastern District of Louisiana
